edWeb’s New Teacher Help community held a webinar on the benefits of using Co-Teaching programs. The practice of Co-Teaching or Team Teaching was at one time only used to help special education teachers teach students with learning disabilities. As time passed, it was discovered that Co-Teaching helped teachers in ALL settings. Many school districts are now using Co-Teaching to reduce the 50% attrition rate for novice teachers, as well as a technique for training pre-service teachers! Webinar presenter, Shannon Holden, Assistant Principal, Republic Middle School, MO, and new teacher coach, described the six most popular Co-Teaching models, and taught webinar attendees how to convince administrators it would be a good idea to implement Co-Teaching at their schools!
