Dr. Eleanor Smalley, President and CEO, JASON Learning, who translated her success as the superintendent in Clark County, NV into student success on a national scale with her work as President and Chief Executive Officer of The JASON Project. JASON provides curriculum and learning experiences in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) for K-12 students, and high-quality professional development for teachers. At JASON, Dr. Smalley creates partnerships with superintendents who share the belief that every student can learn and succeed.

In this webinar, Dr. Smalley discussed careers and women in leadership, especially in STEM fields, with some discussion of ESSA funding driving STEM. In addition, she discussed cultural influences and poverty issues in STEM learning. Dr. Smalley collaborated along with colleagues in Real Women, Real Leaders, edited by Kathy Hurley and Priscilla Shumway. Dr. Smalley’s passion is to offer the adventure of STEM learning to all children.
