In this webinar, Dr. Brad Gustafson hosts a virtual book talk on his book, Renegade Leadership. The first years in the principalship can be some of the most exciting and difficult years in education. It’s imperative that new school leaders focus on what really matters during these foundational leadership years. Innovation is something that really matters, but it can be lost in the frenetic pace and steep learning curve of the principalship…until now. This virtual book talk provides a surprisingly simple framework for applying innovation to the great work already being done in schools. This is NOT a discussion about change for the sake of change. Renegade Leadership promises to empower principals with the tools and how-to support to create meaningful change in their schools.
About the Presenter
Dr. Brad Gustafson, Principal of Greenwood Elementary School, is Minnesota’s 2016 National Distinguished Principal and a 2015 Digital Innovation in Learning Award (DILA) winner. His school was awarded a 2015 Local Government Innovation (LGI) Award from the University of Minnesota’s Humphrey School of Public Affairs. He earned his Doctoral degree at Bethel University where his research focused on innovation and professional development. Brad co-hosts the “UnearthED” program on the Bam Radio Network. His blog, Adjusting Course, has been named a “Must Read” K-12 blog by EdTech magazine the past couple years, and was also recognized with an Editor’s Choice Content Award by Smartbrief Education. In addition to blogging, Brad recently co-authored Renegade Leadership: Creating Innovative Schools for Digital-Age Students.
