Play and Learning On Screen and Off: Enhancing Children’s Experiences with Mobile Apps
What are the most wonderful play and learning experiences young children can have using mobile devices, and why are they so powerful? edWeb community, PreK-3 Digital Learning, held a webinar about how to use apps with early learning students to create fun and exciting learning experiences. The webinar was presented by Ann H. McCormick, Ph.D., Kids App Developer and Partner at Learning Circle Kids, LLC, and previously the Founder of the Learning Company. Ann discussed some of the finest apps for children, how children play with them, and why these apps are so compelling. She also proposed design guidelines for choosing apps worthy of taking children’s precious play time and discussed how we can enhance children’s learning by bringing experiences with apps off-screen into daily life.
