Many of our students are visual and kinetic learners; others find it hard to relate to the qualities of excellence our Medal of Honor Recipients embody. In this webinar, the presenter explored two lessons that will engage these students more easily using this free curriculum.

This recorded webinar also introduced the the brand-new full-day Medal of Honor CDP training at Freedoms Foundation’s Medal of Honor Foundation Legacy Seminar in Valley Forge, PA. This 5-day residency seminar delves into military history and the compelling stories of Medal of Honor Recipients within the context of the war they fought; also included are a full-day visit with a Medal of Honor Recipient, panel discussions with military veterans, and historic tours of Philadelphia.

Cory Etchberger joined the MOH Character Development Program as a Regional Curriculum Trainer in 2015. He has taught science at the middle and high school levels, and college biology. He is the youngest son of the Air Force’s most recent Medal of Honor recipient, Chief Master Sergeant Richard Etchberger and also serves as the Academic Director for the Medal of Honor Legacy Program at the Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge, PA. Cory contributed to his father’s biography, At All Costs, which was published in May 2015.

The Medal of Honor Character Development Program is a free resource that teaches character through stories of the Medal of Honor recipients. The CDP is a cross-curriculum supplement and complies with National/State Common Core standards. The Medal of Honor Character Development Program incorporates the ideals of courage and selfless service into the middle and high school curriculum to build character and promote responsible citizenship.  The program is FREE and includes 50+ lesson plans supported by over 100 video vignettes of the Medal of Honor Recipients themselves, as well as videos of hometown heroes selected by the Medal of Honor Recipients as “Citizen Heroes.”
