K12 Blueprint for OER Course Construction
The Georgia Virtual School (GAVS) has been developing K-12 Open Educational Resources (OER) courses for the past three years. They have worked hard to train subject matter experts as well as course reviewers to locate OER material, cite its sources, and organize it for course development. In this edWeb webinar from the OER in the K-12 Classroom community, Tami Echard, Supervisor of Instructional Development with GAVS, shared favorite sites for locating K-12 resources, helped viewers understand how to create something new from OER information, encouraged attendees to spend time creating original OER material, and offered GAVS content — it’s out there for the public! At the conclusion of the webinar, attendees were able to locate OER material for use in their own classrooms, understood the basics of Creative Commons licensing, and knew Georgia Virtual School’s development process.
