Embracing social media in schoolsThis edWeb.net webinar presented by the Leadership 3.0 community explored the power of social media for building a conversation and crowd-sourcing a school’s story in order to promote a positive school culture and amplify student voice. Jason Markey, Principal for East Leyden High School, shared how to empower the digital citizens in your school with hashtags, collaborative blogs, and more. He was joined by Tony Pecucci, a Technology Teacher for Leyden High School’s District 212, who teaches the district’s required Digital Literacy course. We also heard their intentional focus on the need for digital literacy education. This live, interactive event was geared towards educators and leaders at any level of education who want to use social media to create a positive culture within their schools.
