View the 2-part webinar on technology and teaching students with autism

During the first hour, Karina Barley, a veteran educator and president of Project Autism in Australia, explores the incredible implications for learning and learning outcomes that iPads offer.  She shows how using these devices can improve concentration and persistence of students with autism, motivate them to work harder and achieve consistently better outcomes, and lead to improved classroom behavior.  Karina also demonstrates how the iPad and its various applications can assist learning for students on the autism spectrum, and how iPad applications can be adjusted to individualize and differentiate learning.  She includes examples of the iPad being used as an augmentative communication device and sensory tool as well.

Eden Autism Services’ Nina Finkler leads the second half of this special session, showing you how to incorporate a learning management system into your classroom.  As educators, you have many responsibilities involved in running your classrooms, and many of these are time-consuming and often drastically cut into instructional and student planning time.  Nina shows you how you can use technology to manage your classroom to put the balance back in your students’ favor so you can devote more of your time and energy toward their learning.
