Based on his own work with young and adolescent readers, professor of literacy education at Kent State University Dr. Tim Rasinski will make the case that reading fluency is indeed a critical and necessary competency for reading at every grade level and that many students who struggle in reading are not sufficiently fluent.

In this edWebinar Dr. Rasinski presents a model of reading that demonstrates that fluency is a cornerstone to reading proficiency. He will also share practical, effective and engaging instructional strategies for making fluency instruction an integral part of any literacy classroom. Learn about:

  • The critical importance of reading fluency for reading success
  • Effective and engaging instructional approaches for teaching reading fluency
  • Evidence of the efficacy of reading fluency instruction for improving student reading outcomes

Elementary and middle school classroom and intervention teachers and instructional support staff as well as principals, reading coaches, curriculum directors, and librarians are invited to this watch this recorded event. Learn how to improve your students’ reading fluency.
