In this webinar, Isabel Monterrosa, Program Director for English Language Foundations (ELF) program at Berks Technical Institute (BTI), focused on instructional design elements for leveraging technology to build speaking confidence for English Language Learners (ELLs) inside and outside the classroom. Isabel covered three main instructional design elements: blended learning, development of reading and writing skills, and improved oral communication skills. BTI leverages technology-based language learning to complement classroom instruction for their ELF classes. Isabel shared: how the institute’s ELLs have benefitted from taking this ELF blended learning course; how to integrate technology into your curriculum to create a blended and interactive language-learning program that complements classroom instruction; how to leverage digital language learning to accelerate development of all language skills. View the webinar to learn how you can create a dynamic, blended learning environment for your own ELL students. Isabel spoke to ELL at the post-secondary level, but this presentation offered great takeaways for anyone wanting to incorporate technology as an add-on to ELL classroom instruction at any grade level.
